A Day on the Course, a Lasting Impact

Volume II, Issue No. 2 Summer 2026

Friends,

Every year, Aspire and LHA staff and volunteers gather at Mariana Butte Golf Course before six in the morning. We set up tables, arranging signs, and getting ready to welcome the community to our biggest fundraiser of the year.

This year, 112 golfers joined us for the 19th Annual LHA + Aspire Golf Tournament, and we are so proud of what we accomplished together.

All proceeds benefit the LHA Educational Enrichment Scholarship Fund and Aspire’s resident services. The scholarship program supports residents of LHA affordable housing communities who are pursuing college degrees, trade certifications, and continuing education. For many recipients, financial barriers are the only thing standing between them and the future they are working toward. These scholarships give people the resources to take the next step, build a career, and create long-term stability for themselves and their families.

Beyond scholarships, Aspire’s Resident Service Coordinators (RSCs) work directly inside LHA communities, providing free, confidential, and completely voluntary support to residents. RSCs take a proactive, hands-on approach, building long-term relationships with residents and meeting people where they are, without judgment.

Whether a resident is navigating a health challenge, looking for work, trying to support a child in school, or simply needs help communicating with a service provider, our RSCs are there. They connect residents with resources that support health, education, career, and financial goals; host on-site events and workshops; help families access childcare and parenting support; assist with financial stability and housing-related challenges; and create a safe space for residents to share what they need and find real solutions.

At its core, Aspire’s work is about making sure no resident has to face life’s hard moments alone.

We are grateful to say that this year’s tournament raised over $63,000 in support of that work. That would not be possible without the generosity of our sponsors and supporters.

A heartfelt thank you to:

And to every golfer, volunteer, and partner who gave their time and energy to make this day possible: thank you. You are the reason this event works, and the reason our residents have access to opportunities that can truly change their lives.

We hope to see you on the course again next year.

Partner Spotlight

Comcast logo featuring a colorful peacock with six feathers above the word "COMCAST" in black capital letters on a white background.

Aspire is proud to recognize Comcast as a long-standing supporter of our Youth Leadership program. Since 2021, Comcast has provided annual funding and high-speed internet access that keeps our youth connected, engaged, and moving forward.

Youth Leadership is an after-school program for residents ages 11 to 17, built on a Positive Youth Development framework. Participants meet twice monthly, right in the heart of the community they call home. Young people help shape each meeting, building confidence and ownership alongside their peers. Over the course of a year, participants build practical life skills through financial literacy lessons, youth-led community service projects, and support from community partners who show up for them.

For young people growing up in affordable housing communities, reliable internet access is not something they can always count on. Comcast’s consistent support helps ensure that the youth in our program have the tools and connectivity they need to learn, grow, and imagine something bigger for their future.
